“Lovely place! I very much liked the ambience and enjoyed the walks to the waterfall & the village in the neighborhood.

The personal touch of the owners of this place is amazing. It makes this place more a ‘ home away from home’ than a commercial establishment which has its monotony. The best part of this bunglow is its huge hall cum sit out where a large family can hang out & have a great time. If the family consists of people across different age groups, each group can comfortably and cosily engage in activities of their own interest be it playing a board game or having a chat over drinks. You can find cosy corners to relax & read a book or maybe watch a movie with your headphones on!

On the whole, I loved my stay there & would not miss a chance to visit the place again. Best place for a large family retreat!”

“Away from the malls and multiplexes that pass off as happening places and recreation in the cities, the incessant noise of vehicular traffic and accompanying dust and pollution, Rico Retreat in the Nilgiris, near Kotagiri, is the place to be with family and friends. It is a home away from home, spacious, warm, and welcoming.

We were four families that spent an extended weekend there recently – a large enough space for all of us to huddle together in the spacious hall when we felt like, or for us to retreat to a quiet space in solitude when the mood called for it. Rico Retreat is comfortable rather than glitzy with modern essentials discretely in place rather than in your face. There is a television, and broadband connectivity. We mostly stuck to music and loads of conversation, fun and laughter interspersed with great food that the local cook and caretaker put together for us right there in the Retreat. The property blends in with the surroundings, mostly gentle slopes with acres of tea crop. Kotagiri town, just a few kms. away was useful for provisioning. There is a small hamlet nearby for those us who care for human contact outside the Retreat. The walks each day were the highlight of my days there – crisp air, inviting gradients, abundance of birds, tea gardens all around, and scattered forests like tufts of hair dotting the terrain.

Just under an hour from Metupalayam railway station, Rico Retreat is a great place to hang out. And, keep coming back.”
